Lucy and her sister Mae once lived with an MC who protected them because one member cared what happened to her little sister. When her sister is taken, Lucy is told to leave for her own good, but she refuses to go. Lucy is determined to locate her sister and she finds herself a stowaway in another MC. When Vicious finds her, she is unsure what he will do with her, but she could think of a few things.
Vicious is pissed someone stole his pizza and his beer, and when he finds the one, he has no idea what to do with the thief. Especially when he finds he does not want her to leave. In fact, he uses any excuse he can to keep her safely in his arms, and if she is the only one who has no idea he claimed her, that will be his little secret.
Vicious and his brothers in Salvation’s Bane go to save Mae and they end up in the middle of a blood bath because they were never provided all the specifics of the operation. Lucy has grown closer to Vicious and she is thankful he saved her sister, but when it is time to stay or go with her sister she has no idea what to do. Will Vicious help her decide?
Ms. Karland is a talented writer who has built an unusual MC which carved out a place for her in a popular genre. I liked Vicious; he is a sweet and spicy MC member who I loved to watch fall for a pixie who gives him a run for his money. Lucy’s character was annoying at times, but in no way does it detract from the overall character. I recommend giving the writing of Ms. Karland and her MC world a read, it does not disappoint.
