Action and adventure have been replaced by paperwork and filing for Eliza Braun, at least that is what she is letting her superiors believe. Her demotion to the archival bowels of the Ministry has in reality changed Eliza’s life very little.
The more time Wellington Books spends in Miss Braun’s company the harder it is too ignore the truth. The Ministry may have put her under his command to tame her wild ways, it seems however that the opposite is actually happening.
The suffragist movement is losing some of its key members by unexplainable disappearances, and Eliza intends to get to the bottom of it no matter the cost. Once again Wellington will not abide sitting on the sidelines as Eliza puts herself in the line of fire, even if it means his job with the Ministry. They make a most extraordinary, if not unusual pair, but in this instance they are going up against an enemy with unimaginable technology. Eliza has lost much in recent history, however this case brings the possibility of losing Wellington into stark relief.
Steampunk fans everywhere will be clamoring to get their hands on this novel. Eliza is a spunky smart heroine who can be tough as nails one minute and a mother hen the next. She certainly makes her fair share of mistakes, right alongside Wellington, which in my opinion makes them all the more loveable. Eliza and Wellington are a match made in heaven, or maybe hell, depending the situation, and you will not want to miss a single minute.
