Based on what his room had been like when she and her big brother had lived at home, she didn’t really doubt this was just the way he lived.

Places That Refuse to Stay Silent
Hello, Friends,

Have you ever visited a place and immediately felt that it had a story to tell?

Not a historical marker or a museum display.

Something quieter than that.

Castle ruins still standing.
A rocky path through the trees neglected and forgotten.
An old gravestone whose markings are faded.

Those are the places that ignite my imagination.

It`s probably why Scotland found its way into my heart long before I ever visited it. Standing stones, ruined castles, mist-covered glens... they all seem to carry echoes of the people who walked there before us. A people so strong they could not be broken.

The same thing happens when I research Sumer and pirates. Hundreds or thousands of years may separate us, but the wonder and legends inspire hope when the world feels uncertain.

My writing often involves listening.

Listening to places.
Listening to history.
Listening to characters who insist they have one more story to tell.

Every book begins with a setting, but eventually that setting becomes a place where people discover courage, sacrifice, and sometimes the kind of love that they never expected.
