Bea is an intelligent and beautiful woman who knows her worth. Her grifter mother taught her that her worth is reflected in the man she marries, so she is determined to marry rich.
Collin was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He is youngish, dull, and acceptably good looking and is Bea’s target.
Bea’s plan to marry Collin Chase and all of his lovely money is jeopardized by his best friend Gale. Her future will fall apart if Gale uncovers her past and her mother’s history. Bea is trying to be as different from her mother as possible, but is worried that she is more like her mother than she thinks.
This is a pretty fast paced and engrossing novel, very impressive for a first time author. It is told from Bea’s perspective, and although she is not a very likable character, she is fascinating. Her determination to get what she wants before Gale blows her plans all apart kept my interest and I ended up rooting for her in the end. I look forward to Ms. Croft’s next effort.
