Hello Ms. Rochelle, and welcome to Coffee Time Romance. My name is Venus, and I am thrilled to speak with you today about one of your newest releases “Love Play”. We would love to know a little bit about the woman behind the stories.
Venus, I would like to thank you for taking the time to do with interview with me. I really appreciate it.
What is a typical writing day for you?
Well, a typical writing day for me usually starts out with me working on 2 or maybe 3 books. I like to think I’m the one controlling my writing schedule but I think my characters have full control over me. They want their stories done and won’t stop until I get them done. My men don’t like to wait for their HEA.
What motto do you have that you say over and over when/if things get tough for you?
What you are is God’s gift to you….What you make of yourself is your gift to God…
What inspires you to write the stories you create?
My characters direct me with their stories. They know what they want and I give it to them.
Is there a character that was the hardest to write?
I think the two hardest characters I had to write about was Rally from Be With you. He was a very hard man to love because of all of his issues and the way he handles certain situations in his life. The other character I would pick would be Storm Hyde from Taken by Storm.
You have written a number of serials, do you prefer them to single titles?
I love writing series. I think it’s something about going back and visiting all of the old characters in new books. I do love writing single titles too.
If you could date any character from any book, who would it be and why?
You want me to pick one character? Oh, this is hard question…but I guess if I would pick it would a tie between Hayward and Storm. I think I like how both of them changed so much with the help of love and I believe that love is such a strong emotion.
If you weren’t writing romance, what would you be writing?
I don’t think I would be writing anything else. I love writing romance. I love when my characters can get a HEA in my stories it’s the reason I write. I have always loved interracial romances and I have never thought about writing anything else.
What books/authors were your faves as a child and what characters stand out in your memory from them today?
I have always been an avid reader. I loved the Dr. Seuss books when I was a kid. I still have a couple of them from my childhood.
If you could switch bodies with someone for a day who would it be and why would you want to switch with them?
I’m pretty happy with my life so I wouldn’t want to trade places with anyone. I’m pretty happy being who I am.
Has anyone ever told you that you couldn’t write or that you just couldn’t do it? If so, how did you handle that?
I think every author at one time or another have been told that statement, but a writer just has to take it as a person’s opinion and move on if writing is truly your passion.
What do you hope readers take with them, after reading one of your stories? What do you hope they feel, or learn?
I hope that my readers feel like they have gotten lost in a good story and would like to read about the characters again and again. I hope that felt the love between the characters and got the HEA all of them were hoping for.
Which book would you recommend a first time reader start with and why?
I would have to recommend Taken by Storm. It’s my first book and I always get a 50/50 spilt from readers about Storm. Either they hate him or love him. After that I tell a reader to start with The Men of CCD series.
Can you introduce us to your hero and heroine in “Love Play” What makes them tick?
I would love too. Ben Forster is a man who loves to get his way and doesn’t like to hear the word no. Rishelle Damian is the woman who he’s has been in love with for years. They have a hot and cold relationship because they don’t want to be the first to admit their true feelings for each other. They are a very intense couple with a passionate side. They are the sequel to Pamper Me.
How much does reader reaction mean to you as an author?
I love hearing from my fans about my characters. I love to see what kind of reaction that my character causes with a reader(s).
Thank you again for your patience and answering my questions. I hope you had as much fun as I did. Is there anything you would like to add?
I would like to thank you again for this interview. I would like to add if my fans want to keep up with my career please check my website or my face book page. Also check out the last book in The Men of CCD series called Help Wanted released on July12th from Phaze Books.
