Jenny’s life is normal, but has become very predictable. She is a successful family doctor, the mother of three great teenagers, and married to a celebrated neurosurgeon. Yet all that will change the night her daughter, fifteen year old Naomi, does not come home from a school play.
The authorities launch a nationwide search with no success. Things can be checked off one list, yet added to another. Jenny’s life begins to crumble and as the days pass things she thought she knew, she did not. She now was finding out how little she truly knew her life and those in it.
More than a year after her daughter’s disappearance, Jenny is still digging for answers and finding a way to live in peace with the blow that fate handed her and her family. Things will never be the same but is that all bad? She will never be able to find Naomi unless she uncovers the whole truth about her daughter and travels through that painful journey to an answer and ending she might not want to accept.
Whew! I am conflicted as whether to be glad to have finished this rollercoaster of a read. I am sad its over but wow so excited that I finally got the answers! I truly have never read a book such as The Daughter; heart break in one moment and joy in another. What is written on the pages of this book is true talent to keeping the reader sitting on the edge of your seat and amazingly enough never knowing what the next page is bringing; a knockout punch, or a tickle. I cannot wait to see what more this author has in store for readers.
