Leaving the festivities for awhile, she meets Sir Thomas. She will remember him in her prayers. Not long after the marriage, Rosamund is kidnapped. In time, Sir Thomas meets Rosamund. Now a widow, he seeks to make her his wife. As the waging war continues, Rosamund is torn with many things, but never the most important, the love for Sir Thomas. She is aware any harsh battle may separate them again forever.
Rosamund’s Bower carries much history as the audience is swept away into years of fighting. The times are harsh, the battles intense, with each individual trying to find a way to cope with the situations. It shows how battles can quickly age young men instantly. I admired Rosamund’s spirit and tenacity. The pairing of her with Thomas is indeed a wonderful act. The two have a way of healing their troubled hearts. Rosamund endures much at an early age, never once giving up. Susan McGeown incorporates numerable characters, allowing the reader to see into their hearts and learn from their actions, while sharing in their emotions. She weaves an interesting tale, captivating the reader.
