Denver is a bull fighter, and twin to Denton the head bull fighter of the Midnight Rodeo. He has returned because his twin is dead, and he must take over for him including being Alpha of the wolf pack.
Blaine was friends with Denton, and is a wolf who lives on the outskirts of the pack and is called “Stubby” by most, a nick name he absolutely hates. He stands by Denver when others in the pack want to challenge him and become Alpha.
When Denver returns he knows it is not going to be easy. He loved his twin and missed him terribly while he was gone working mundane rodeos, but he and Denton knew they both could not be Alpha and so Denver left. Denver is different than his twin, he has no problem hanging with the “kitties” as he calls them, the cat shifters who handle the food for both the rodeo staff and the people who come to the rodeo, not something that exactly endears him to wolves in his pack. Denver is in fact very laid back, but others make the mistake of thinking he will be easy to take on. When Blaine sees that the others are going to continue to try and best Denver, he befriends him, offering food, and friendship. However, it is not long before friendship turns into something more, something deeper. Unfortunately, this does not make everyone happy, and there are still a few who think to take the pack from Denver. Oh, and let us not forget the demon inside the bull that killed his twin also gunning for him. Will Denver survive long enough to make a happy life with Blaine?
I LOVED this book! Blaine and Denver are awesome together and oh so hot in the love scenes in this book! There is also plenty of suspense, danger and unexpected happenings to keep any reader on the edge of their seat until the very end. Denver’s relationship with the cat shifters is heartwarming, and I loved how eventually Blaine was included in the cat shifter’s affection. This is just a really awesome story that I am very happy to recommend to anyone who loves m/m romance and shifter romance. It is not to be missed!
