Who will you be kissing at Midnight?
New Year's Eve is a couple days away, a majority of us look forward to the food, the parties, the ball dropping on time square. Some of us dread the resolutions we have committed ourselves to. So in coming up with a suitable theme for this Special Holiday Edition of Thursday Thirteen I struggled, until friend and fellow author Mike Woody offered me my “light bulb” moment. What better way to celebrate than with my listing of famous cinematic kisses (Or my version anyway) There might be a few spoiler alerts and for that I am sorry–
When Harry met Sally– This movie practically ended at a New Year's eve party so it gets top billing. Plus I love Harry’s tirade about how he wants to spend the rest of his life with her.
Sense and Sensibility– Edward’s proposal to Elinor gets me every single time.
The Princess Bride– One of the most beautiful, sweet and touching kisses of all time—well until you here the gagging of a pre-teen boy who hates “kissing books”
Braveheart- Wilds of the highlands, kilts and testosterone overload do not take away the sweetness from the romance between William and Murron.
Dirty Dancing– Oh how beautiful young forbidden love is- Or maybe it was just Patrick Swayze shirtless
Bull Durham– Long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days– Need I say more?
Practical Magic– I am very much on the fence about which kiss was better; the one first one between Sally and Michael or the first one between Sally and Gary.
The Wedding Singer– The church tongue kiss *Sigh* coupled with the serenade at the end is a definite win-win in my book!
Never Been Kissed– OK call me a sucker for Drew Barrymore! She stood on the baseball diamond, waiting for her first kiss, feeling the hope, the wonder, and the dread if the challenged man doesn’t show. It gives me the awe moment.
The Notebook– No kissing list would be complete without a kiss in the rain! We're gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, you and me, every day.
Overboard– Considered a completely over the top mid ocean kiss, it is still makes its way into one of my top faves! “Katarina! Aurturo!”
A Knight’s Tale– Oh the deceit of false identity, meeting your true love and having to lie about who you are!
Stardust– I love it when love sneaks up on unsuspecting characters. It makes the first kissing scene so much more worthwhile.
Happy New Year!!!!!
May all your dreams and wishes come true!!!!!

13 years agoThanks for mention, and proud to be the inspiration for such a romantic entry. Great choices, especially 'Wedding Singer.' The song on the plane chokes me up every time. lol
