Rhonda Penders is Editor-in-Chief of The Wild Rose Press. I met Rhonda when The Wild Rose Press first opened its doors and the managing editor of the English Tea Rose Line offered me a contract on my first historical. I was lucky enough to kick off the line and was more than stunned that I’d been chosen for such an honor. Rhonda tends the Garden, as The Wild Rose Press inner sanctum is called, just as any gardener would, with love and patient care. Readers are welcome—and encouraged—to visit the Garden and get to know the authors and editors of this thriving press. The Wild Rose Press is a multi-line publisher, so there’s something for everyone here.
Say hello to Rhonda Penders!
I heard something most disturbing from my 16 year old the other day. He said that as soon as kids are old enough to type on a keyboard the first question they Google this time of year is the age old question, “Is Santa Real?” Unlike children of the past like Virginia who believed what they were told by adults, today’s kids, even the preschool set are too savvy. It takes a lot to keep the magic of Christmas for them.
Although The Wild Rose Press doesn’t publish children’s books, we still try our best to keep the spirit of Christmas alive. For anyone who doubts the existence of the big man, we bring you several wonderful stories that will convince you he is alive and well. Check out our Faery Rose line and pick up, “Mistletoe and Mayhem”, or “Christmas Star”, maybe “Not Your Mama’s Reindeer Games” will twinkle your Christmas lights. These stories tell how Santa’s children manage to find true love and you’ll enjoy their quirky tales on their way to their happy ever after.
I mean think about it? How much more conflict can you ask for then trying to convince the guy or gal you just slept with that not spending Christmas with your family is not an option since, well, your family is Christmas. But don’t stop there. The Wild Rose Press has been releasing new holiday stories in all our lines every week since Halloween. Whether you enjoy the spicy offerings like Jingle All The Way from the Scarlet Line or Oh Holly Night from Sweetheart Rose, there’s something for every taste.
So when you unwrap that new eReader this year, remember The Wild Rose Press for your holiday reading and all year. Thanks for visiting with us today; we’re giving away a raffle basket full of books as well as several free eBooks. All of us at The Wild Rose Press wish you and your loved ones the merriest of Christmas’ and all the best for 2012!

13 years agoHi Rhonda,
Great to meet you on such a warm and wonderful Christmas… yes, it's warm here in Atlanta 😀 My 15 and 11 year old still believe and want to believe in Santa and my husband continues the cookie and milk theory too…. so we keep the Christmas spirit alive no matter how times change and kids grow up and move on!

13 years agoI am blessed with very intelligent kids. Come Christmas time when the debate of reality of santa would come up and they would throw facts at me about why Santa could NOT be real I would point out how we have to scrimp, scrounge, beg, borrow and just short of steal just to get by everyday of the year. This compared to the true blessings of Christmas, (we have often been VERY blessed with others 'adopting' my kids/secret Santa's when they were smaller) killed any debates. Now they are 12, 13, and 14 and the Secret Santa offers have disappeared, so last year I had to break down and explain to them that the TRUE Santa is the love and carrying in others hearts and the blessings that we have recieved and often are surprised with not only at Christmas but many twist and turns through our everyday walk.
ok, hushes now *smiles*

13 years agoChildren grow up so much faster these days then we did. I only have one left out of four that believes in Santa. This may be the last year for that. She tells me constantly that all of her friends say Santa isn't real. The boys go along with the whole thing, whether to appease us or her, I'm not sure. But they know. I guess this is the way society is going now. It's almost like they don't want kids to stay kids for very long. They start teaching sex ed in our school district in 4th grade, they teach them things I didn't know until HS. It really makes me sad sometimes that they are being treated like young adults as young as 9.
Anyway, Merry Christmas! Santa will be here in a couple of hours:)

13 years agoWow I have sure had fun following you tonight on your Santa updates. It would have been a lonely Christmas without you. I'm bringing it in by myself. It's just me and the dogs.
I've gotten to know more about authors I've never read. So thank you and I so want the black and white kitty that's on that picture.

13 years agoIt does seem like kids are learning at younger ages these days. I have known of kids who were just 6 or 7 and already knew. My youngest nephews (4 & 6) still believe and I hope that they continue for many years to come.

13 years agoI was always the believer in my family. My younger brother figured out that Santa wasn't real first and then my mom had to spill the beans to me. I still remember that day, I was kinda crushed………..its such a bummer!

13 years agoYep that is sad. Technology is good and bad. The good part is everything is at our finger tips just google it and find the answer. The bad part of course is some things shouldn't be found. It takes away childrens innocence. Thats for the giveaway sounds like great prizes! christina_92 at yahoo.com
