Our next guest is K. E. Saxon. Anyone who’s read K.E.’s work knows you’re in for some great fun with her books. She writes Scottish historicals–gotta love that! Modern fairy tales, ohhhh, and contemporary romance. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next! Give a warm welcome to K. E. Saxon!
Even as a child, I loved a good romance, and one of my favorite childhood Christmas specials was Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town, because it told the story of how the handsome young Kris Kringle (a.k.a. Santa) met the future Mrs. Claus, Miss Jessica, a beautiful school teacher, who then (as all good heroines should) aided him in his mission and helped him to become the man he was meant to be.
It also told how he became Santa, why he wears a red coat, goes down chimneys, has magic flying reindeer””all the questions we had as children about Santa. I also loved the villains in the story, Burgermeister Meisterburger, who was the mayor of Sombertown, and the man who declared toys “illegal, immoral, and unlawful,” and Winter Warlock, the evil magician guarding the Mountain of the Whispering Winds. Of course, Kris (I mean, Santa), won the day in the end, as all the girls and boys got their toys. He won the hand of his true love, too. (Very romantic, how the writer tied Christmas trees, lights, and presents under the tree into their wedding on Christmas eve.)
So”¦you’d better not cry and you’d better not pout, “cuz Santa Claus is comin’ to YOUR town TONIGHT!!
How does a smart, easygoing serial monogamist tame a closet Bohemian?
Adam Taylor believes selling his childhood home is the only way to put the past…and the memories behind him. Then he meets Joy Pettigrew. The uptight real estate broker isn’t what she seems.
Freaky and Joy Pettigrew no longer mix. She’s a corporate girl now. She plans to make the sale, get the commission, and never look back. So how does she keep the truth from Adam Taylor long enough to get him to sign on the dotted line? He swears he wants to sell his grandfather’s house and move on. She knows he’s lying to himself. He insists she throw off the façade she’s hiding behind. She knows she’s lying to herself. She also knows he’s going back to Houston. Nothing she does will change his mind…and even their shared passion won’t convince her to go with him.
She’s already home. After all, Christmas is just around the corner and everyone knows you spend Christmas at home.
