Violet Richardson is a wedding planner who believes in happily ever afters for everyone but herself.

Max Baldwin is a ruggedly handsome man with some dark secrets in his past. He has no intention of getting involved with anyone, especially the wedding planner who has gotten under his skin.

An unscrupulous and vicious criminal is determined to steal the mysterious jewels found by Violet and her partners. The villain sees her as the key to obtaining them and kidnaps her. Despite his reluctance to get involved, Max is compelled to come to her rescue.

This is a formulaic but entertaining suspense story. The characters are sympathetic and well-written. The plot is intricate and suspenseful if a bit far-fetched at times.
