I am really intrigued by TC Archer's book. Where I live now is really close to the site where the first bomb was tested. It is on the White Sands Missile Range and a restricted area but one or two times a year they do a tour out to the site.(I guess it is "cool" now after over fifty years!) I missed the one in April but will sure try to make the next one! Since this is the 100th year anniversary of New Mexico (and Arizona) becoming states, there is a lot of historical information coming out in the papers and New Mexico magazine lately and they've had features about the Los Alamos and Sandia laboratories and the Manhattan Project etc. So this book is on my TBB list now for sure!
i like your idea of profiling the hero too, Laura. I tend to do a short bio on my characters too (Yeah, I am a writer also LOL) I used to grab a lot of photos out of magazines and catalogs etc. and did find ones that suited some of my characrters. They mostly become very real after you work with them awhile, don't they? I mean I would recognize them if I met them on the street and almost feel sometimes like I should. I would go so far as to say in some alternate reality they do exist and have just reached across through time and space to get us tell their stories. Think I am a nut case?
