It’s always exciting for an author to receive a great review for thier story, but when you get two super reviews for your first book, it’s WONDERFUL!!
This is the review I received from my fellow author at Solstice Publishing, Suzette Stone.
Winter’s Spirit is a love story with an interesting spin. Winter, the heroine, is a young widow whose philandering, playboy of a husband dies in a car accident. Scarred by his unfaithfulness, Winter throws herself into the gift shop she runs with her sister. She would like to move on and fall in love again, particularly with her longtime crush, Jack, but there are two things stopping her ““ the ghost of her dead husband, who just will not leave her alone, and the memories of his unfaithfulness. When Winter suddenly finds herself snowed in with the gorgeous Jack, her dead husband keeps popping up, along with the fear that allowing herself to love someone again will result in hurt once more. As a reader you’re left guessing until the very end as to whether Jack and Winter will both overcome their fears and tell each other how they really feel. Winter’s Spirit is a joy to read. Set in a bustling Yorkshire town during Christmas, I couldn’t help but want to curl up on the sofa with a hot mug of cocoa and enjoy the love story unfurl amidst the snowy Yorkshire landscape. The novel has a lot of great conversation that moves the story along at a brisk pace, always keeping the reader’s attention. I would highly recommend Winter’s Spirit as a heartwarming read and a reminder that out of sadness and tragedy, happiness can blossom.
And this is what author Gary Peterson thought of the book.
