Hello Coffee Time Blog Readers!
To say that reading and coffee are two of my favorite things would be an understatement. I’m not sure I could survive without either.  🙂
I’ve been writing for a while now and have published more than 65 books with three publishers including Harlequin, Kensington and Tule. I’m a Florida girl at heart and still claim that state even though I now live in the midlands of the U.K.
Don’t know where that is? Neither did I until we moved her three years ago. But I now live between Coventry and Birmingham in England. It’s different but in a good way. I’ve adjusted (and so have the local residents!) to driving on the wrong side of the road and drinking lots of tea. No offence to the Brits but they really don’t make a great cup of coffee.
My latest release, THE RELUCTANT BRIDE, starts in Vegas, which I have visited once. I loved the grown-up playground but since I won’t spend my money unless I have books, shoes or new clothes to show for it, I didn’t gamble. I did shop and eat very well.  🙂
As you may have guessed from the title, Risa Grant is a runaway bride. She likes Monty, cares for the Marine gunny a lot but she’s scared of committing her life to him. But Monty is a Marine and he always gets his man—in this case woman. He tracks her down in Marietta and sets about seducing her all over again.
What I loved about this story was the quiet small town of Marietta, which is similar to the small town I grew up in Haines City, Florida. I also loved the real emotions of both Monty and Risa. Though I write what could be called high-fantasy for Harlequin Desire (all those billionaires!) this book features characters who are more real. More like you and I.
Risa’s fears are real and she’s a bit raw emotionally. I loved that. I have moved so often and lost people who are important to me so her struggle was one I really identified with.
I’m giving away a copy of THE RELUCTANT BRIDE e-book to three lucky blog participants. Just tell me what you love or where you’ve lived or even if you have ever been to Vegas and like me didn’t gamble!
