Greetings, Coffee Lovers!
I’m Jennifer Lane, psychologist and author (or psycho author) of The Conduct Series, including romantic suspense novels With Good Behavior and Bad Behavior.
This writing thing is fairly new for me — Omnific Publishing released my first novel in the summer of 2010, and published Bad Behavior in March of 2011. It’s been so much fun! I’ve loved meeting readers and other authors through my blog and Goodreads.
What would you do if you were a law-abiding professional who becomes trapped in the clutches of a Mafia capo, landing you in prison? Now that you’re on parole, how would you get your life back? Those are the very questions facing Sophie Taylor and Grant Madsen, the romantic leads.
With Good Behavior begins as Sophie and Grant are starting parole and attempting to rebuild their lives and their dignity. Sophie Taylor is a former psychologist who’s an intelligent, spunky, strawberry-blond beauty. She has a tendency to open her heart to wounded people, including the “bad-boy” boyfriends littering her past.
Grant Madsen is a former Navy lieutenant who’s hard-working and kind, with dark Italian features and stunning crystal-blue eyes. He has a penchant for brooding and self-sacrifice. Their paths collide outside their parole officer’s door, and both have no idea about the explosive hidden connection waiting for them like a ticking bomb down the road.
In Bad Behavior, things get naughty and heated for the two parolees. I throw the characters into couples counseling, and boy do they need it. When Grant’s ruthless father hints at a plot to get out of prison, Grant must use everything he’s learned in therapy and beyond to try to stop him. It’s a race against time — and a race to rescue Sophie from the Mafia’s clutches once again. But this time “McSailor” and “Bonnie” refuse to play victims. This time the cuffs are coming off.
One of the funniest reviews I received was a reader telling me she was glad my novel wasn’t the typical romance where the heroine says “I love you!” and the hero says “I love you more!” and the heroine says “No, I love YOU more!” etc. This series is about healing and redemption, themes I’ll explore in my next post here. It’s also about sexy vegetables, architectural cruises, and hot dogs.
What type of romance novel is your favorite?
