Roman Keim needs a break from the drama that has consumed his family. Traveling to the Amish snowbird community of Pinecraft, Florida, he hopes to discover peace. It does not take long for him to find much more than he imagined. Roman becomes fascinated when he meets the young widow and her daughter occupying the condo next door.
Amanda Yoder wants to be someone other than Wesley’’s widow. She has focused so much of herself on her daughter, Regina, that she has forgotten what it feels like to be a woman. When she meets Roman, Amanda begins to wonder if there is change on the horizon for them all. If only she can scrape together the courage to take a chance on loving again.
Roman does not think his infatuation with Amanda will be a simple thing. She and Regina have lives in Florida and his is in Ohio. Yet phone calls and even visits are not enough. Roman knows deep down that he loves Amanda and Regina in a deep abiding way that will promise a lifetime of shared experiences and laughter.
This interesting twist on the typical Amish romance is a nice surprise. The Keims have some very real world, modern problems that they handle with all the aplomb of a good Amish family. With the third and final book releasing soon, I would suggest picking up the first one and reading them in order to better understand the multitude of conflicts going on.
