When everything is running smoothly with his pack, Beta Chase Lawson feels like he is doing his job well. Now is not one of those times.

After an attack that comes out of nowhere, Kayla Webb and her friend Randy know they need answers, and they need them now.

Just when Chase feels like the tension is dying down, another threat pops up. He hates that his good friend is hurt, but what bothers him more is learning that there are way too many secrets being kept from him. When Kayla rushes home to be with her injured father, she and Chase click instantly. They work hard to find their pack’s stalker, knowing that this threat is unlike anything they have ever encountered.

This installment in the Were Chronicles is an exciting read, but I wish that I could have a bit more background on the characters and their pack. Chase and Kayla’s characters are wonderfully in tune with each other, and I really like how they rely on each other equally. I am sure that starting at the beginning of this series is the way to go. The history of the pack dynamics would only serve to enrich the characters as well as their story lines.
