What’s a little-known fact (or two) about the lovely Sandra Hill?
I’m very timid in crowds. In fact, I often have dreams about being all alone in a crowd and not knowing anyone. Usually, I’m wearing something totally inappropriate. I’m not shy about speaking to large groups of people or even talking to strangers, but I avoid going to conferences or parties alone.
I’m fairly religious. A cradle Catholic, surprising when so many of my books deal with birth control
It’s been a rough year for Sandra Hill, personally, like much of this country. My husband works for Citigroup, which if you watch the news tells it all. We lost a ton of money. Two of my sons own Dominoes pizza franchises. With this economy, it’s been a struggle. Then my husband got mysteriously ill. Until they found the correct diagnosis, he lost fifty pounds, and he wasn’t overweight. My sister in law died unexpectedly, and mother in law died, not so unexpectedly. But you know, despite all this, I am in good spirits. My husband and I both have jobs. We and our four sons, and three grandchildren, are healthy. Life is good.

15 years agoI too hope everything gets better for you and your family Sandra. I feel that as we struggle with death, sickness, money, and careers it brings something else into the mix something we did not expect. People are learning to rely more on each other. We have sort of become this electronically engineered world. I was in a restaurant and there was this couple sitting down to eat when suddenly their cellphones went off. I thought…oh geez, don’t answer it, don’t answer it. It is one of my biggest pet peeves. Both of them picked the cellphones up and turned them off. I thought it was great.
