I have never been a fan of waiting in HUGE lines in the cold to watch a movie, I figure the movie will be the same a week after it starts as the midnight showing …Right?
WRONG!!!!
Before I start my story I have to give a shout out to all of those girls I was talking too who had “Camped” out to buy their tickets for the midnight showing, Your burger King Crowns are beautiful and I LOVE your shirts!
So first of all I have to thank my wonderful friend who hooked me up with VIP tickets and a private screening of the movie NEW MOON @ midnight. I had never had the VIP treatment before and it was amazing. The VIP treatment consisted of dinner before arriving at the theater cute little Mexican food restaurant that had wonderful food. Second we got to meet one of the “werewolves” who was very sweet and posed for a ton of pictures and signed anything a person could want. After meeting him we were then taken on a tour which held posters of the movie and cardboard cut outs that we could pose with. Right before we were situated in our private theater we were taken into a room were Stephenie Meyer’s Eclipse prom dress was held- Holy cow the dress is BEAUTIFUL!!!
We were put in our theater about 10 PM where we had our own DJ/Twilight saga captain, Who held raffles and asked questions for chances to win New Moon themed swag! One of my friends is a proud new owner of a snuggly New Moon blanket. I won a book mark and a handful of temporary tattoos which according to the movie I am a proud werewolf -HA .
The movie began right at midnight and I have to say I was surprised! First of all I have read the books and I think the story is good but a little too “OMG I love you so much I’m going to slit my wrists” for me. That being said I thought the movie was great for the target audience. I thought the first one lacked action and the second one made up for that I was happy to see that Bella went through an emotional transformation from “little weakling” to a stronger female (gotta love the strong female characters). I had heard the phrase “Team Edward” and “Team Jacob” before this (I don’t live under a rock) and I was pretty neutral… Does it make me some sicko that I am probably at the least 12 years older then the characters and I find that the werewolves in this movie are SMOKING HOT? It wasn’t hard to watch them walk around shirtless.
Overall I think it was a great experience!
