He is like no one she has ever met before and yet she feels safe and comfortable when around him. When he introduces her to his hostile brother, Peter, Alice’s life spins even more out of control. Peter’s first glance seems to penetrate to her very soul, and she finds her heart actually stops beating when he is near. How can she be attracted to brothers who are so different?

Amanda Hocking spins a unique and entrancing paranormal tale. The compelling characters jump off the page — I loved Milo and Peter. I really just wanted to shake Alice, first for being so irresponsible at the very beginning and then for being so darn clueless about what was going on around her. A warning: if you are like me and cannot stand when a book just ends without filling in any of the reader’s unanswered questions, this one may not be for you. This is the first in a series and it ends abruptly. Overall the story could use some tightening, but I could not stop reading it. I actually read it in one sitting. I am looking forward to seeing how this young author’s writing improves and matures with her next offering.
