The last thing Pru Marlowe wants is for an innocent animal to pay the price for human indifference. Her connection to animal life is unexplainable, often times being almost more than she can bear.
There is much about his job that Jim Creighton cannot share or talk about. Being in a semi-relationship with Pru can be a challenge, but for the most part she understands that he cannot talk about work.
Ernesto is a gorgeous little ball of fluff, yet Pru realizes the Canaday sisters are in no shape to take care of the kitten. With their father’s sudden death, Jackie, Judith, and Jill are at each other’s throats, but Pru cannot figure out if it is sibling rivalry or something more sinister. She has no desire to keep the kitten permanently, and her cat Wallis is certainly no babysitter, yet she has little choice at the moment. Until she figures out how David Canady died, she will not surrender an innocent kitten to the battling siblings.
Pru is most certainly not the sweet cuddly type. In fact she is about as prickly and standoffish as her four-legged housemate. What is confusing is why she involves herself in a situation that is completely none of her business, except for the well-being of a kitten who nobody wants. I cannot say that I enjoy her attitude or her personality, and really think that less liquor and more laughter would do her and her stories a world of good.
