I know I talked earlier about Susan Elizabeth Phillips’ Chicago Stars novels, but this time I want to talk about something completely different. Have you ever picked a book up, read it and then wanted to immediately reread the book? Well that is how Kiss an Angel is for me. I have tons and tons of favorite books that I love to read over and over again, but this one just takes the cake.
http://www.susanephillips.com Kiss an Angel: How did pretty, flighty Daisy Devereaux find herself in this fix? She can either go to jail or marry the mystery man her father has chosen for her. Alex Markov, however, has no intention of playing the loving bridegroom to a spoiled little featherhead with champagne tastes. As humorless as he is deadly handsome, he drags the irrepressible Daisy away from her uptown life and sets out to tame her. Except it won’t be as easy as he thinks. This man without a soul has met a woman who’s nothing but heart. Will vows spoken in haste shatter…or offer the promise of love everlasting?
One of the main reasons I love this book so much is because of Daisy herself. Here is this girl who was raised in a most unconventional way. Because of her beautiful model mother’s loose ways, everyone expects Daisy to be some ditzy floozy who has entertained man after man and probably can’t add two plus two. So here comes Alex, who takes her into his home and onto his job, where there are tons of animals to work with. Daisy is expected to pitch in and help, but considering she is terrified of every animal, including the teeniest tiniest dogs, everyone is expecting her to fail once again. In the meantime, Alex and his crew get to see this softhearted woman conquer her fears and prove to them that she is no dummy. But when a life changing event shocks both Daisy and Alex, it may break them up forever.
I can promise you that this book has it all. Hot sex, laugh-out-loud comedy, sweet sweet romance, and one heck of a heroine. Trust me in saying this is one book that any romance reader would pick up and never want to put back down!
