Julie Eberhart Painter is a wonderful writer, with six novels in print. She has worked with nursing homes as a volunteer coordinator, and then as a community ombudsman. Julie also spent eighteen years with Hospice of Volusia/Flagler in Port Orange, Florida. She even writes a world travel column for Seniors Today, a senior tabloid. When she is not contributing to helping edit some self-help books, or being a volunteer, she is busy working on her stories. Her latest being a cozy mystery that should not be missed. Once I started reading, it was hard for me to stop. I love the whole concept of the storyline.
Kill Fee was a thoroughly entertaining story. I love the strong characters, the bold statement throughout the pages, and the connection shared with Penny and Cole. This reader could feel the love that Penny exhibited toward her uncle. Julie Eberhart Painter positively knows how to engage the audience and keep them fastened to their seats until the conclusion. She instills just the right amount of romance, mystery and charisma to keep the story moving at a good pace. I thought the addition of the secondary cast with the retirement setting was a good complement to the read. Without giving anything away, I was deeply touched by the hug episode; I found it priceless.
