I’m thrilled to join CTR for a leisurely sip of coffee with new and old friends. My Keurig is all fired up and ready to go. Gingerbread or Pumpkin Spice? Decisions, decisions.
For those who haven’t met me before, I’m Nancy Gideon, aka Dana Ransom/Rosalyn West/Lauren Giddings, author of 50+ historical, contemporary suspense and paranormal romances, with a couple of horror screenplays thrown in. I’ve worked full time as a legal assistant for going on twelve years and am obnoxiously proud of my grandson. When I’m not at the keyboard at 5:00 a.m. or setting depositions, I enjoy enabling everything fur and feather on my fourth floor balcony and feeding my own Netflix addiction.
I’ve been a romance junkie since The Flame and Flower and a lover of all things paranormal since “Outer Limits” and the original “Dracula” scared the snot out of me when I was a child. Then, of course, I fell hard for “Dark Shadows” . . . Besides romance, I adore Dean Koontz, and Sandra Brown and Lisa Gardner’s suspenses. There’s such magic to be found in the written word. My Kindle app runneth over!
Stop back throughout the day to visit and talk books (particularly my new one, HUNTER OF SHADOWS, that just debuted yesterday. To celebrate, I’ll be offering a FREE copy of this fifth book in my By Moonlight series to one random commenter!
What do you like to read other than romance?

13 years agoI'm a huge paranormal romance reader. I'd say it's 85% to 90% of what I read. Thanks for being here today and the giveaway :).

13 years agoHi Nancy. I like horror, especially ghost stories. Love all Stephen King's books. He manages to write horror without being too gory. I always care about his characters, his stories are full of love and usually have a happy ending.

13 years agoHi Nancy! Love your enthusiastic post! I also loved, loved, loved Dark Shadows. Strangely enough as a child I had the biggest crush on Quentin but I actually prefer vampires lol.
Thank you for sharing.

13 years agoNancy,
OMG someone who remembers Dark Shadows. I mean, I practically flunked French at Santa Clara U to watch them. "Can a 400 year old vampire find love and meaning in a typical New England town?" I can still remember the tagline. Why don't they do any more of this?
Until I got into my SEALs, everything I read was paranormal. Now, I'm pretty well split down the middle.
Nice to "meet" you here today.

13 years agoHello Nancy! Thank you for stopping by. I can personally attest to your wonderful Moonlight series since I had the honor of reviewing one of your books. 😀
You mentioned falling in love with Dark Shadows…I loved the series. I watched it when Ben Cross played Barnabas. I was looking up some romantic movies for one of the puzzles on our Newsletter and I found out they are coming out with the Dark Shadows movie in 2012. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1077368/ Didn't know if you knew that or not. Michelle Pfeiffer and Johnny Depp are playing in it and it is being directed by Tim Burton. I love Michelle and Johnny. But I am not sure how I feel about Tim Burton directing it. I am thinking…Nightmare before Christmas…blech.
I have to say romance is my number 1 read no matter the subgenre. If I had to choose a second type of book, I would say it would have to be suspense. But it has to be enough suspense to keep me interested which is not easy. I am a picky reader. Although I would consider them romance, according to whomever does it, Linda Howard is considered Mainstream Fiction. I love, love, love her books.

13 years agoCongratulations on the release of Hunter of Shadows! I like to read historical fiction and women's in addition to romance (like all sub-genres of it).

13 years ago AUTHORJohnny Depp as Barnabus…oh, yeah. I'm down. But Quentin Collins was the man. Maybe that was my first werewolf crush!

13 years agoMy first werewolf crush…hmmm. I don’t know if I had one from a show. But I sure do from books. Vane from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s were-hunter series. In the book Night Play, he falls for Bride and she is a plus size woman. Loved it!

13 years agoLove Lisa Gardner and Dean Koontz. Dracula is in my top ten favorite books of all time. Stoker was a genius.

13 years agoI have never read Dracula. Nor have I seen the movie. I know…I know. Shocking!

13 years agoHi, Nancy, We met way back in Michigan when I liked snow and cold. No longer.
We moved south and enjoy a lot of sunshine and are close to the gulf with all of it's wonderful seafood. I remember some of your great historicals. I'm not a paranormal fan, but I sure do enjoy a good Historical. Good Luck with your latest.

13 years agoAllison (Martha!), you should have been here for the first real snow last night! And icy roads this morning. And I remember your books, too! I love a good historical! Seafood…sigh! My mom was a Floridian so ochra, grits and pawpaws are calling to me.

13 years agoHey now…I live in Northern Michigan and it is great right now. No snow. Usually we have feet by now. But it has been in the 50's and 40's lately. I heard that downstate got 9 inches. 😀 I won't even comment about the "9 inches" lol.

13 years agoI loved Dark Shadows, but I was a Barnabas fan, and who can forget that witchy witch, Angelique. She was so good at being evil. I love the same thing about your books. Can't wait for your next release.
