Welcome to Coffee Time Roxanne and thank you for giving me the chance to meet such an old and experienced vampire. New Orleans is on my top ten list of places to visit but why did you set your story there?

I love New Orleans and it is a city that really goes all out for Halloween. I thought the New Orleans and Halloween together would make a fabulous backdrop for a vampire story.

Quillon is an amazing character would you like to introduce him to us?

Quillon is a centuries old vampire, very powerful and protective vampire. He has been like a guardian angel for LizBeth’s family and now for LizBeth since she was a child but he remains hidden in the shadows and just out of reach.

Liz has followed what Quillon has wanted, gone where he directed for most of her life. How well does this represent her character?

He is familiar to her. He’s all she has left. Her parents were killed when she was a child and her grandmother raised her, now that her grandmother is gone Quillon is the only piece of her life and family she has left. She feels he has  a plan for her and she’s naturally curious so she lets him lead. Plus wherever he sends her is always  an adventure.

When Liz meets Christien she is attracted to him from the start how is it she doesn’t become suspicious when she only seems to see him at night?

She’s distracted by her search for Quillon and the magic of the city around her. It reminds her so much of grandmother. Night and day blend together seamlessly in her distracted state of mind. Plus there are other things at play in the story that keep her distracted as well.

If we where to ask your husband to describe you in three words what do you think they would be?

OK, I cheated on this one and asked my husband. He said in this order -sexy, vibrant, creative. Sexy because that’s the first thing he thinks of when he thinks of me, vibrant because of my energy, and creative because off my abilities and the way I approach life and problems.

What type of music do you like and do you listen to it while you are writing?

I listen to a bit of everything but can’t listen to anything when I write. It’s too distracting.

If you won a million dollars what would you do with it?

Pay off my bills, pay off my mother’s bills, buy a big piece of land, build a house and go on a much needed vacation.

If you weren’t an author what would you do instead?

I’d be working as a secretary or administrator or some kind of office job where I kept everything organized and running smoothly because I am a very organized person.

What plans do you have for the next year?

Write, write, and write some more. Other than that we’ll see where life leads.
