Welcome, today we are talking with Cindee Bartholomew! I would like to thank you for taking time out of your busy writing schedule to answer a few questions.
First, I think it’s important for readers to get a little insight on an author that they don’t necessarily get from your professional bio. You’d be surprised at what readers connect to, and sometimes the simplest ‘I can relate to that’ grabs their interest where nothing else can. Don’t answer anything you feel uncomfortable with.
Can you share a little something about Cindee Bartholomew that’s not mentioned in your bio on your website? Certainly! I’m the mother of two boys, 24 and 26 years old. My husband served as an Army Aviator for 10 years flying helicopters. We served a tour in Germany and I froze my butt off, but it was beautiful and I learned to love beer. Prost! I’m a Northwest Florida native and was a tomboy growing up. I rode horses, climbed trees and loved to fish. My husband and I still bass fish together. We live on 12 acres and have a 3 acre pond, a mule named Thor, a goat named Tigger, two kitty’s named Jasmine and Blackie, 3 Peking ducks who are nameless because I can’t tell them apart and a German Shepard grand puppy named Angel who is spoiled rotten!
What is your favorite:
Animal – Dogs.
Food – Chocolate ice cream.
Movie – Flashdance or Pretty Woman. Hard to choose.
TV show – SEAL Team on CBS. Dang! That Clay Spencer, aka Max Thieriot! He could so play Aurei in a movie based on my books. He’s perfect for the part.
Actor – Totally smitten with Max Thieriot.
Singer – Whitney Houston.
Author – JK Rowling.
What are your pet peeves? Drivers who cruise in the left lane and/or don’t use blinkers. Serious road rage issues.
Who is your hero? My Dad and my husband. Two of the best men I’ve ever known.
Give us one thing on your bucket list. To visit NYC and I’m planning on checking that off this October when I go to #TNTNYC, Tempted and Tantalizing, New York City, hosted by Janine Infante Bosco. She is one of my fellow Scandalous Sisters of Sensual Romance in the SisterHood Hangout…SHH group.
What would readers find surprising about you? That’s a tough one! But I think that I’m an avid fisherman. I take it very seriously!
If you could go to heaven, who would you visit? My grandmother whose name I took as my pen name, Jessika Klide. She would be so proud I’m an author. She always had a book in her hand.
Any bad habits? Not really, except I maybe that I say “Fk” all the time [laughs]. But it’s the best fking word ever!
Now that our readers know a little bit more about Cindee Bartholomew, let’s get down to the business of your wildly popular best selling series, Siri’s Saga. Book 4, Learning to Love, just released. How long did it take you from beginning to end before your novel was completely finished? Let’s see, it was originally written as an erotic romance, titled Unstoppable and took three months to write. Learning To Love is the extreme edited version and took a solid month to go through and rewrite. It’s 500 pages, 90,000 words.
Please tell us a little bit about Learning to Love. This book covers the stage of learning about your lover in a new relationship. It takes place in Alabama and quickly moves to Rome, Italy. Siri and Aurei explore not only the sights of Rome and their friendship, but also their sexual tastes.
What was your hardest challenge writing this book? Deciding what parts to cut and what to leave in. What to overwrite and what to leave raw. This book has a lot of sex in it and when you get to the end you find out why. I won’t say anything more, but yeah. Sex is the central theme. What in your opinion makes good chemistry between your leading characters? They are on the relationship I have with my husband. There is a lot of us in it and we have had excellent chemistry from the beginning and still do. He still turns me on and makes me weak in the knees. I’m so in love with him it’s amazing. I’m a lucky girl!
Please list the other books in the series, published and coming soon.
