Good afternoon everyone! I’m Christopher Craven, writer of romantic suspense. I grew up the scrawny middle child in a semi-liberal family residing in Phoenix, Arizona. From the time I was able to write my own name, I knew that I was destined to write for the world. Thank God for my mother, who handed me my first adult novel in junior high. I strive to become a prolific name in the literary world. Preferring to write erotic romance that explores the love between kindred spirits and Romantic Suspense, I also enjoy barefoot strolls along the beach but can most often be found roaming the Eastern Colorado plateaus when I’m not writing.
So, how did I get here exactly? Well, it’s a funny story actually. You see, I share a space with three women”¦yes, women, and their muses. Together we make up a team called Wicked Muses. I didn’t start out with Wicked Muses, I was sort of “found” by them a few months ago. After stretching and growing a bit, they were looking for a fourth and thought that adding a man to their world of romance seemed like a good idea. Thanks girls for accepting me and welcoming me into your world! We were all talking one night and JL, our resident tell it like it is girl, thought an anthology was well over-due from the four of us and we began to brainstorm. Force Recon””Beacon Bayou was born. Then our editor at Rebel Ink Press liked our idea so much, it turned into a series. Yes, there will be more to come about our hunky marines and sailors.
Now I’ll admit writing military romance is a bit outside my box as I’m a suspense type of guy. In fact, the first thing that Rebel published for me was a short story you can find at ARe entitled The Bystander, which is a prequel to a series I’m developing about a policeman named Joel McNathy and his boyfriend, a reporter named Kenton Korvel. I’ll be sharing a bit more about these guys a bit later today. Military romance””yes, a new sub-genre for me. I had a blast learning so much and I gained a lot of respect for the uniformed men and women that keep us all safe and allow us the freedom to do what we love””write without fear of retribution. Thank you armed services personnel!
My part of the anthology rotates around Regan, a former Hollywood model who’s just trying to fit in. He’s the youngest of the group and has developed feelings for another member of the team that he’s having trouble processing. Then a tiny little problem from his past comes home to roost. I’ll also be sharing an excerpt later today about Corporal Regan Maxwell.
Thanks CTR for hosting me and us as a team. And thanks readers for coming out to support everyone here. Hope you all enjoy yourselves today and keep watching, Force Recon never backs down!
