Hi, my name is Mercy Celeste and this is my first time blogging here at Coffee Time Romance. I’m still sort of new to all this. So, about me, well I write romance, of course. I tend to lean a little bit into the erotic category. Nothing too spicy, just right spicy.
I write a little bit of everything. My first book, under another pen name was a ghost story, I have a football ménage m/f/m and a regular old football romance of the m/f variety both with Liquid Silver Books. In fact, my current book, Wicked Game has a phone sex scene in it that has everybody talking. And an uber awesome alpha jock as the hero.
I also write m/m romance. Behind Iron Lace, my newest foray into the gay romance genre is set to be released at Silver Publishing on Halloween. It’s not a Halloween book. Nothing spooky about it. Just a plain old boy meets boy romance set in New Orleans during a summer heat wave.
One thing I’m asked is why I didn’t use two different pen names to differentiate between the genres. Well, I’ll just say that to me romance is romance no matter what sex the characters are. And there is that ultimate question of why did I decide to write m/m at all. That’s a bit more tricky to answer.
I adore the genre. I love how the limitations that exist with a female lead aren’t really there with two males. I can push the boundaries a little more in the m/m world than I can in the m/f world. And no one is going to hate my heroine for being a bitch at times if I don’t have a heroine at all. So why not? Best of both worlds and all that.
What’s coming up with me? Well, I plan to self-publish a book in the middle of November. One of two that I rescued from an underperforming publisher this past summer. And I’ve just sold what is sure to be a controversial book to Silver Publishing that will come out next year. Plus several m/f books I’m in the process of polishing for submission as we speak. One a western. My one and only foray into historical romance. But maybe just maybe I might take a trip back there one of these days.
Well, that’s me, Mercy. Most days you can find me at my blog talking about this and that, usually utter nonsense. Be warned though, I tend to post naughty pictures.
Nice meeting all of you,
Mercy
