Hi! I’m Gianna Bruno, a paranormal erotica author (who occasionally comes back to the real world). I’m thrilled to have been invited to spend Halloween 2011 hosting the blog here at Coffee Time Romance.I’m not sure where the time has gone. It seems like just last week that I was sunning my buns on Cape Cod, doing yoga on the beach, and working hard on my latest stories.
Well I’m still working hard on my stories, but if the weather this past weekend is any indication, it’s going to be a long, cold winter””perfect for curling up with a book, or cuddling in front of a fireplace.
But today is Halloween, and I thought it would be fun to trade some spooky stories. I fell in love with the theme of witches and ghosts back when I was about ten, trick or treating all by myself. The moon was full, bright orange, and the iconic image of a witch on a broomstick amidst a bank of dark clouds drifted across it as I made my way back home, my bag full of treats.
I recall stopping and staring, open mouthed, as she flew by and disappeared into the stars. I wasn’t scared, and none of my paranormal experiences since have ever been frightening. On the contrary, most have been a deep sense of the presence, connection with, or influence of beloved friends and family members who were recently deceased coming back to comfort and assure me that everything was fine.
This past summer, on a ghost tour of Provincetown, Massachusetts, our guide suggested we snap a series of photos while in one of P-Towns several cemeteries””and one that had a long history of paranormal activity. I did, and a ghostly orb appeared in one image, not the others, indicating it was a specter not a trick of light. About the same time, on a cool (free) I-phone app called Paranormal States, there was a spike in the electromagnetic field, which dissipated soon after.
There was no sense of discontent, though many of the ghosts in that cemetery have frightened people in the past, and the tour went on. Perhaps the spirits know when visitors are open to their presence and are soothed by it.
The picture is on my Facebook page, so take a look at the two cemetery pictures. You will have to enlarge the image to appreciate the orb.
I also have some thoughts about what inspires a paranormal author on my blog, as well as some excerpts from Hot Chocolate Kiss, where the witches aren’t the kindly sort, and The Journey, where the magick takes many different forms””some of them not very pretty.
Does anyone else have stories to share? I’d love to hear them and will check in while at work from time to time.
I’ll also be doing a giveaway of one of my gift packages: an electronic copy of The Journey and Hot Chocolate Kiss with a personalized note. You’ll have to read the excerpts to answer the question, which I’ll post later, but they’re really easy.
Trick or Treat,
Gianna
