Here is another excerpt from my M/M Paranormal Romance
Blurb: No such thing as vampires!
William Chatterley is an up and coming author looking for a partner after many dead end dates. Finally, he believes he’s found a suitable mate in Andrew and they see one another.
The vampire Jude is weak from being without love in his life. When he sees the author, he desires him right away but his companion is a stumbling block.
How will he get passed it and when he does, will the mortal want to be his partner? What will he choose? Will Jude convince him to become his eternal lover?
After a couple of days of good rest, William felt somewhat at ease since he hadn’t received any calls from the police. The reports were still inconclusive which meant for now he and his career were safe.
Although it lingered in the back of his mind, he completed the edits on the latest novel and got more rest. His editor still wondered what was wrong with him and why his mood seemed sombre.
The author reminded him how writers go through stages of depression and loneliness and not to worry about his disposition. He seemingly bought it since they were able to hang up without any additional questions. William wished it were just that simple.
He did start to wonder, however, why they hadn’t called him. Could it be that the connections with Andrew were mysteriously lost? The other day when he signed into the male dating site, he found it rather peculiar that Andrew’s profile had already disappeared. How did the company know about his murder, unless Andrew did it before he died?
Yes, that’s likely.
Perhaps he thought William to be the one and decided he no longer needed to be advertised. As preposterous as it sounded, Andrew had to have done it. How else would that have happened so quickly?
William shook his head and decided an alcoholic drink might be in order since he needed soothing from the crazy thoughts he’d had over the last few days. He made his way out his office and down the hallway until he heard a knock at his door that startled him.
“Who is it?” He walked there and looked through the peephole. A lump gathered in his throat, knowing this had to be the authorities coming to talk with him.
Chatterley didn’t see a badge, rather, a very nice looking man, well dressed. “Can I help you?” He still didn’t open the door.
“Ah hello young man. I have something of yours that you might’ve lost.” The gentleman held up his black scarf.
William let out a sigh of relief and unlocked it. “Hello, thank you so much. Where did you find it?”
The man grinned. His blue eyes affixed on William as if he were about to ravage him. “At the Clarence bar. The waitress knew it belonged to the great author, William Chatterley and hoped you’d come back to retrieve it. When you didn’t, she gave it to me to return to you. I’ve been a fan of yours even when you used to do the free reads at the Literary Noble site. I just had to deliver it personally.”
“I…” William’s heart thumped in his chest.
They knew I was there?
“Um,” he swallowed hard and took it from the nice looking man. “Thank you, I…” he laughed nervously and ran his hand through his hair. “How did you know where I lived?”
“I have friends who have eyes all over,” he chuckled. “I’ve known of your residence for quite a while but I had to have a reason to come here.”
“I see,” William nodded and continued to ogle the stranger. “Um, would you like to come in?”
“I’d love that, thank you. My name is Jude.”
