Perfectly Queer takes the reader on Jillian Abby’s poignant and painfully funny rollercoaster of self-discovery as she identifies and eventually accepts herself as a lesbian just before her 40th birthday. Living her new truth means leaving behind a life that, by societal standards, is nearly perfect. 

It’s a story of hope and inspiration to those who are starting or are in the middle of their journey, and an affirmation to those who have been through it to stand proudly on the other side.

Jillian Abby has mastered reinvention throughout her life to create the most whole and satisfying journey. She left the comfort of her hometown of Buffalo, NY, to study abroad in Cochabamba, Bolivia, at age 15. As an adult, her resume includes Certified Public Accountant, Licensed Massage Therapist, craft beer bar owner, homeschooling parent, black belt martial artist, and CEO of her executive storytelling business, Storyteller Soul, LLC.

Her most recent role as a newly out lesbian and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community was by far her riskiest and most rewarding change. Her memoir, Perfectly Queer, was selected as a global contest winner by Hay House Publishing. She serves on the board for the 501©3 Tampa Homeschool Inclusive Events (TBHIvE) and is a member of Tampa’s LGBT Chamber of Commerce. Jillian lives in Tampa Bay with her partner, Jen, their wildly wacky children, Sophie and Ollie, and a rescue cat named Poe.

Jaime Messina is a Boston native who resides in St. Petersburg, FL. She received her degree in Sociology at Northeastern University. Having overcome anxiety and depression herself, she became passionate about sharing the tools she learned with others so that they could do the same. 

 Her experiences and gifts led her to a career in mindset and empowerment coaching. Jaime is certified in Neuroencoding which is a process that uses the nervous system to reprogram the brain. Through this incredibly powerful process that is the culmination of everything she has learned, she aims to help a million+ people shift their internal story from one that is holding them down and restricting their growth to one that allows them to live the life of their dreams.

 As of late, she is specifically using this process to support and coach women who are coming to terms with their sexuality later in life. This ultimately led to her founding Club Lilles, a Facebook group that supports LGBTQ women who are coming out later in life.
