Hi, Y’all,
Thanks for stopping by! My name is Alexandra Kane. I also write as Kianna Alexander. I enjoy writing several genres of multicultural romance, including suspense, paranormal, and historical. The common theme that’s present in all my stories, however, is the locality: the Atlantic Southeast.
Why do I set all my stories here? Well, there are three primary reasons:
1. The region is often ignored in popular fiction.
2. I’ve lived around these parts most of my life, so I know them pretty well.
3. This region makes a lovely, colorful backdrop for the tales I spin.
Among the states down here, I’m most partial to North Carolina, my home state. From the majesty of the Appalachians, to the crystal blue ocean at the Outer Banks, this place is a part of who I am. If you’ve never been here, I hope to be able to convey some of the beauty, diversity, and Southern flavor of this area in my books. When you read my work, I want you to feel like you were here. I’d love to convince a few folks to visit!
Enough waxing sentimental about my setting. I’ll tell you a little about me.
I’m not telling my age, but I’ll tell you I was born during the Cold War. LOL. I’m a married mother of two, and a freelance copywriter by day. Writing is something that always came natural to me, from the time I was “knee high to a grasshopper.” I loved journaling and making up stories as a youngin’. In school, English and History were always my strong suits. The funny thing is, I waited a long time to pursue writing seriously (I held ten jobs prior to publishing my first work, Skye’s the Limit.) But people who grew up with me say they always knew I’d be a writer.
Well, I wish somebody had let me in on it a little sooner!
Anyhow, my current release is under my Alexandra Kane name. Embrace the Night is the second book in the paranormal romance series, PHOENIX Files. The books do stand alone, with the organization (PHOENIX) being the main factor linking the stories. I’ll give you a little background on PHOENIX.
Founded: 1976 by Gen. J.T. “Phoenix” Pierce
Mission: To fight crime, right wrongs, and create a better, safer world through the use of the the talents of the supernaturally gifted.
Statistics: 705 regional headquarters worldwide, over 15,000 agents
PHOENIX agents are shape-shifters, psychics, telekenetics, sorcerers… anyone who has a special talent and a genuine desire to do good. That doesn’t mean some of those gifted folks won’t work for the other side, though.
I hope you’ll check out Embrace the Night, in print, Kindle, or Nook. Also, swing by my website to learn more about all my books, appearances, and my works in progress.
