Bobbi Romans is Back with Reality TV for Readers!!!
So, many of us have those guilty pleasures of one reality show or another. Did you know my old writing group was in the running for one based on Romance Authors? Yep! I think the concept was canned, but it got me thinking until life happened as did a move to another state.
I’m back in Florida again, and that old thought came rushing back. As did the constant nagging from so many that my life simply wasn’t normal.
Thus the creation of Dear Diary, Reality TV for Readers was born.
Now when I say things aren’t normal, my life in zero seconds can go from wholesome and baking a cake with the grandchildren to frantic phone calls from family in a pickle, a cat stuck on a roof, rescuing crawdads from the pool, taking in children, The Destructor (my cute grandson) taking out the 65 inch tv in a single swing, watching cell phones get chucked into the pool, Talk Shows, accidentally allowing not so sane ppl to move in, a house fire, family members struggling with demons, a schizophrenic family member losing their shit, another losing their over the afore mentioned and so forth.
Thats just the “light” stuff. Don’t get me started on the puppy from hell. (Pepper the Poopers)
An example and peek at Episode 4, was last night I promised the cat stuck on the roof that I had her. I put a chair up (holding the back legs) and urged her onto it.
Urm… so, like I kinda didn’t have her. She jumped on the front part, chair flipped, she flipped, midair landed on the “swinging” patio umbrella then maneuvered to another chair before landing on the ground.
Yes, she’s okay, But anyone watch Pet Cemetary? She shot me a look that, well…. rivaled the cat in that movie.
Then, knowing at least she’s down, safe and in the older grandsons room. I head to bed. I wake up to Pepper the Poopers crying. Okay, so up I get to take him out. I’m so tired I didn’t pay attention if he went potty. After about fifteen minutes we come in.
I wake up in the morning, and yep… pooh everywhere. Not just pooh, the smear in the carpet kind. Hubs helped then I steam cleaned. ALL before work.
Now that’s part of the concept of Dear Diary. That said, my normal is/was romance. So there are plenty of those style books. But I’ve been lovingly calling Dear Diary like a book cleansing of the palate. Its different, its real, its raw and yes…
Its FUNNY!
We can choose to let the lemons in life burn our eyes or add a little Tequila and turn those things into margaritas.
I’ll be around to give out prizes (or maybe they do, I’m not sure) and chat Dear Diary or whatever you guys wanna chat about.
