While were on Santa Watch I want to tell you about Striker, coming to Carina Press on Jan 9, 2012.
I have a serious love for soccer…and soccer players. From MLS to our local neighborhood team, my family and I love soccer. Indoor is fast and aggressive and there is nothing better than a summer evening watching an MLS game. The crowds are loud and the excitement is addicting. And we haven’t even talked about those hard calves, long sinewy thighs, muscular arms, and corded abs. Forwards sprinting down the field, intricate footwork, scoring by the strikers and impossible saves by the keepers. Not sure what a striker, sweeper, stopper or keeper is? Here are the basic.
Striker – A team’s power scorer.
Forwards – Players who score goals – the power scorers are called Strikers
Midfielders – players between the forwards and the fullbacks
Stoppers – The stopper is good at stopping attacks. The stopper is strong and tough and helps defenders mark the opposing teams striker.
Fullbacks – defenders closest to their goal
Sweepers – Sweepers are aggressive defenders. The sweeper stops breakaways and “sweeps” the ball, clearing with long kicks.
Goalkeeper “keeper” – defends the goal
Now for the story. Hot soccer player meets up and coming sport’s writer and there is more than scoring on the field.
Sports writer Max Myers just discovered he lives next door to the hottest soccer player to hit the field. If he scores a coveted interview with the reclusive striker for the Denver Blaze, he could take himself from sports blogger to mainstream sports authority.
Riley Grayson has no interest in interviews or in outing his private life to the public. He wants to be known for the scoring he does on the field and not in the sack. But Max is a temptation he can’t resist. Taking a chance, Riley and Max discover they have more in common than passion for soccer and hot sex between the sheets.
Just as they begin to trust each other outside the bedroom, Max is put in a no-win situation: write an article about Riley exposing accusations of drug use, or risk destroying his own credibility. If he does, he’ll lose Riley. If he doesn’t, he’ll lose everything he’s worked hard to achieve.
Excerpt:
“Welcome to the neighborhood.”
The stranger’s deep voice rippled over Max Myers’s flesh. “Thanks.” Using his palm as a visor against the bright afternoon sun, he squinted as the man approached. Running shoes and ankle socks took a step closer to where he sat on his stoop. His gaze tracked higher. Dark crisp hair swirled over carved calves. The man had the legs of a cyclist. Hard, tanned and long as hell. Basketball shorts rode low on his narrow hips. A thin strip of hair bisected his washboard abs and feathered below the waistband. Two defined muscles grooved his pelvis. Max’s gaze followed the ridge and he stared at the soft mound of the guy’s groin.
Saliva pooled in Max’s mouth. The man was hot. The voice was aural sex, with a dark seductive timbre and the body promised an even greater temptation. Celtic knots inked the runner’s left shoulder. The sharp black edges cut a stark contrast against his flesh as the design curved along his pectorals and ribs. Max wanted to touch the hard lines and contours of that sweat-glistening torso with his tongue, trace the intricate pattern of the tat to discover just how hot the man could get.
“I watched you move in. I live next door.” The inked hottie sat on the stoop next to Max. “Riley Grayson.”
“Riley Grayson as in the Riley Grayson?” Oh damn. Max’s neighbor was more than a walking wet dream. Max should’ve recognized the two-time MLS champion at first glance, but he never would have expected his neighbor to be the star player for the Denver Blaze. His sexy next-door neighbor was hot and an athlete. The two qualities that most attracted Max. If only Riley was gay… No, his sexual orientation wouldn’t matter. Even if Riley were interested, Max didn’t mix business with pleasure. And while he could see limitless possibilities for pleasure with Riley’s body, he definitely wanted to make Riley Grayson his business.
“With seven billion people on the earth, I’m sure I’m not the only one.” Riley chuckled.
“The only one I’m interested in. With seven billion people, I get lucky enough to share a porch with the hottest forward to hit the soccer field.” Shit. He hoped Riley interpreted hot to mean game play and not as a reference to the more than six feet of rippling, sweat-slicked muscle making Max’s heart hammer and his cock thicken.

My whole family loves to watch soccer. I'm still on the fence on whether to pick up season passes to ReaL Salt Lake for my husband and son for Christmas. I say since I'm on Santa watch I'm probably too late lol. looks like that just may be a birthday present for him.

Oh Rhonda, I admit, I have lost my voice from games. My son decided to play keeper this session. it's about been the death of me. But i was so suprosed, he's a little guy on the team, but he makes the saves. We tease him that he channels Nick Rimando when he's in the goal.
