Charity Jordon has tried to get the past out of her mind, but her sister’s death still haunts her. She is now head writer on a very successful daytime soap. While looking for a storyline to wow the audience during November sweeps, a suggestion is made and results in Charity going back to the place where her sister fell to her death.

Police Chief George Kearny does not like Charity and the interference her cast and crew is making. He believes Charity knows something about her sister’s death, even though she claims to not remember anything. Professor Brant is the one who knows the most about the curse Estelle put on the descendants of those who killed her, but can he convince those who refuse to believe that their lives may be in danger? Or will it be too late?

All the circumstances that bring a group of unsuspecting people to Bender’s Crook makes some scared and wary; others just make it out as superstition. But is the curse of Estelle de la Bordeaux, a witch burned at the stake some 200 years before, finally coming true? If not who is doing the murdering?

Witch’s Pawn is a great horror story. It keeps you on the edge of your seat with old folklore that just may be true or is just superstition. Talented characters bring this excitement straight to you, the reader, for pure nail biting pleasure. I enjoyed the way Ms. LoTempio has given the reader the chance to immerse themselves in a very entertaining book. In this reviewer’s eyes, that is what makes a reader enjoy a good book.
