Patch Hastle is a DJ and Model who left Texas in a hurry when he was sixteen. When tragedy strikes he must return to the place he has spent years running from.

Tucker Biggs is a forty-something ex-rodeo rider, ex-high school coach, and father of a number of bastard children. Older and wiser, he knows who and what he is.

When Patch’s parents die in a car accident, he has no choice but to go home and unload the family farm as fast as he can. Unfortunately that will also mean coming face to face with the man who both stars in his most erotic fantasies, and who he is most afraid of since the man made most of his teenage years hell. When Patch finally arrives in the lawyer’s office, he discovers that his parents had the last word by making Tucker the executor of their will. Patch is furious because now he has to deal with Tucker when what he really wanted was to clean out the house, sell the farm, and go back to New York. However, things have changed, including Tucker, and he discovers all that torment Tucker visited on him as a teenager, may have been Tucker’s way of trying to protect him. As Patch cools down, and he and Tucker begin to communicate, Patch discovers his attraction for the big cowboy has not waned, in fact, if anything, it has grown stronger. When Tucker catches him spying on him, and they have their first sexual encounter, Patch does not know what to think. After all Tucker is not gay, right? Or is he? It is not too long after Patch arrives home that what starts out as something casual ends up being far more, at least for Patch, and Patch discovers he must make a decision, home and Tucker, or New York City’s bright lights? Which will he choose?

Lickety Split is an awesome gay cowboy romance! I loved it! The slow build to a deep relationship and emotional strength drove me nuts at times, but the punch line is well worth it. The love scenes are erotic, dirty, and very loving, but, and I stress this, not for the feint of heart. There are some very heavy duty emotional and highly erotic love scenes in this book, and while I personally enjoyed them immensely, not every reader will. Another thing I loved about this book was the place descriptions and the way the author got how people talk in this location. That just tickled me no end! I literally could not put this book down until I had read the very last page; it is just one of the best books I have read this year. If you love gay cowboy romance, and do not mind deep emotional, love scenes with some kink, then I highly recommend Lickety Split by Mr. Suede. Pick up a copy today, you will not be sorry!
