At the hands of a budding serial killer, Kyle Wade’s idyllic childhood came to a crashing halt. After his mother’s death, Kyle’s lighthearted life morphed into a single focus to find the man responsible for butchering countless women.

Even after having her hearing compromised, Nicole Chambers feels very lucky she got out of her last relationship without being hurt worse. Now she needs to work on getting her confidence back and put dating on a long hiatus.

Kyle feels like the biggest jerk for wanting to use Nicole as bait for a killer, especially now that he has gotten to know her. The beauty on her outside is no match for how wonderful she is inside, which makes telling her the truth even harder. Taking a break from men flies out the window when Nicole thinks of Kyle, but being the target of another madman is shaking her badly. Losing his mother was bad, yet Kyle knows that if something happens to Nicole it could destroy him.

The frustration Kyle feels is a physical presence throughout this story, which is why it is so easy to get into his head and his heart. Nicole is a lot tougher than she thinks, and Kyle falls a little deeper every time she smiles. They are an adorable couple, and the supporting characters are just as interesting. This story has fantastic pace, just the right amount of danger, and enough passion to send tingles everywhere.
