Elaine opened the door and walked in. She was dressed provocatively in a short mini-skirt, hitched up to show her garter belt. Nylons were completely laddered, and I was amazed she could actually walk in the black stiletto heels that were at least seven inches high. She had on a plain white blouse with the top four buttons undone to show off her cleavage. A sixteen year-old dressed like a hooker and looking at least twenty. The only plus, she didn’t have any make-up on. I knew Mr. and Mrs. Edwards hadn’t allowed her out of the house dressed that way. She must have got changed while Ed drove her here.
She looked at Dennis and anger flared in her face. “Mother, how could you? It’s bad enough seeing a shrink without you spying on me!”
I answered telepathically, Elaine, I’ve marked Dennis, try any tricks and I’ll know. I’m not going to interfere, just ignore me.
Elaine sat down. Her anger evaporated and her lower lip pushed forward into a sensual pout. Her tongue, just visible, moved seductively across her teeth. She crossed her legs, and then uncrossed them slowly, allowing Dennis to peek at her barely hidden assets.
Dennis was confused by Elaine’s opening remark. “Excuse me, I’m Dr. Place. Your parents are concerned by your recent behavior, especially when you stay out all night. They thought I could help and discover what is really worrying you.”
Elaine glared back at him. “You know I don’t want to be here. I already have enough shrinks in my head. I don’t want or need another.”
“So, who am I talking to?”
“That’s a good question, my parents call me Elaine. I think Lai sounds sexier, don’t you agree?” Elaine made a show of crossing and then uncrossing her legs. I noticed Dennis’ eyes dipped and took in the free show. Darn it, he’s attracted to her. He’s getting an erection!
“I do, Lai. Your attire is a little over the top. Are you trying to shock me?”
“It’s working. Your eyes just checked me out. Do you want to see more? I have hidden assets which might surprise you. Don’t bother to try and hide it, you want to see more and do more. You’re getting aroused, I can read you. You think I’m a girl, but I’m not. I’m changing and I don’t want to change. I want to stay a girl.”
“No, I can see enough. Sometimes, it’s better to leave something to the imagination. I have a questionnaire for you to take away with you. Please answer the questions truthfully. My nurse-receptionist will also schedule a full physical and take blood and urine samples before you leave. Have you eaten or had anything other than water this morning?”
“No…is all this necessary?”
“You’re a new patient, to me an unknown. The physical and chemical analysis will give me a baseline. Have you taken drugs, alcohol, weed or anything stronger?”
“Dennis, of course, I enjoy all of them. I can call you Dennis?”
“You may. Lai, tell me about yourself.”
“I was adopted as a baby. Ma and Pa love me, although they have no idea what I am. I can’t really relate to them. Sometimes, all that love smothers me. Give me adoration and worship any-day! My birth mother and father, is a different story. I only have a mother because my father is also my mother. To make matters worse, Mother didn’t even acknowledge that I existed for years. She would waltz in, take over for a while, and then waltz out. That hurt, it still does. I didn’t mind being farmed out to the Edwards, but that lack of respect was painful. I still haven’t forgiven her. For a long time, I had no privacy. It wasn’t until just recently that I had anybody to confide in and who I wanted to confide with. I have lots of secrets now. Would you like to hear one?”
“Yes I would, but first, what did you mean about your birth father?”
“I don’t have a birth father, just Mother.”
“I don’t understand.”
“Mother is both of my parents. I’m a clone.” Elaine could see she was getting to Dennis. “I’m not the only clone. Mother is building an army. She is convinced we’re about to be attacked. I think the aliens are already here. They’ve been here for a long, long time, hiding and it’s not them we need to worry about. It’s their dead forefathers.”
