True Stories that made it to the Big screen

So let’s start talking about books that are based on true stories and have made it to the big screen!

Personally I love this type of story – though some tell me they are afraid of them.   No need to be afraid – just be sure to do your research first, right?  We can never be sure in this life of what will come, what the good Lord has in store for us, but we can be sure of one thing – if it’s a great money maker, Hollywood will make a story out of any tragedy and/or heartwarming story.  They have no scruples when it come to digging into someone else’s life……..though I’m guilty of being one to go to the theatre to see the film.

Let’s hear from you readers – what is it about true stories that grab you?  Is it the fact that it could happen?  Perhaps it’s because you already know the story and want a face to the fame?  Does this make it more real – and therefore more scary?? 

I love a nice story too about inspiration – like the recent Blind Side with Sandra Bullock – even if her success has been outshone by her jackass  husband who ruined everything……and then sweet again by the adoption of her son.  What a story!  Now that I would go see in the big screen.
