CTR: Welcome to author Elizabeth Moore who’s sharing our themed book party today! First, tell us a little bit about the book you’re featuring today. Things like publisher, release date, ISBN and a buy link at least please! Also a blurb would be nice 🙂
EM: Brotherhood Of Fire released with Noble Romance Publishing on December 13th, and you can find it at https://www.nobleromance.com/ItemDisplay.aspx?i=213
The blurb; At the Grand Falls Fire Department, brotherhood is the key to everything. It’s the glue that holds firefighters together through thick and thin. When Garrett O’Neal realizes the brotherhood he shares with his mentor and best friend could be something that fulfills the erotic fantasy he has of sharing his wife, Carrie, it begins a journey that none of them will escape without being plunged into the depths of flaming passion. A hot and intense tryst becomes so much more than just a bedtime fantasy. As the three begin to navigate the boundaries of love and desire, the fires of passion and their passion to fight fire threatens to tear the three of them apart forever.
CTR: What made you decide to write this particular book? Did you have a special uniformed person in mind or just admire them all? Can you give us some story behind the story?
EM: I’ve always admired anyone who puts themselves in danger to help someone else. I have been close friends with several people on our local fire department for years, and was married to one of them as well. Firefighters are a whole breed unto themselves, and I thought some of the interesting details about what they do might add something to a romance novel, not to mention the danger they are in when they go out and do what they do.
CTR: How about the spouses and SOs of our uniformed protectors—do you know one and sympathize with the special stresses they have to endure? Do you think couples can make two careers of this kind work?
EM: I know many of them. Most are of the same attitude as the firefighters, tough and proud of the work their SO does. They know the dangers, but they know someone has to do the job too, and are proud of their loved ones for being out there and getting it done. Couples who are both involved are somewhat common, and yes they can make it work because they have a special understanding of what the other one is dealing with.
CTR: What do you think is the special appeal of men and women in uniform, be it military, law enforcement, fire fighters or others? Do they make good romance characters because of this?
EM: I think the strength and character they have is the most appealing. They don’t give up, they stick it out, go places most are afraid to even think about. There is a certain appeal to characters who have a clear view of how things should be and are not afraid to step in and get the job done, I think that definitely makes for good romance characters.
CTR: Let’s switch subjects a little bit now. Here we are at the start of a brand new year. Are you one of those folks who makes a big list of resolutions and struggles to keep at least some of them or do you take a pass on this custom?
EM: I do a little of both. I don’t make hard and fast resolutions, but I do for sure assess the last year, think about things I would like to improve on or goals I’d like to achieve. I consider things I may have wanted to do that didn’t happen and think about why, and what changes my path has taken over the last year. It’s a little bit of both looking back and forward at the same time.
CTR: Do you have a goal, plan or dream for something to do this year?
EM: Absolutely, publish more books! Now I have some personal goals as well, my life has completely changed in the last year so this will be a year of almost starting a whole new life for me and I have definite plans for that.
CTR: Where do you see yourself and your writing career on Jan 1, 2012? 2020? Even farther into the future?
EM: I’d love to be writing full time, sharing stories with readers and hopefully traveling to places both to meet new people and research locations.
CTR: Anything else you’d like to share with our readers today?
EM: I appreciate the chance to introduce my new book and chat with people today, and I hope everyone has a great time with the event.
CTR: Thanks so much for joining us today and please come again when you have a book that meets our theme.
