Cara Rutledge is fifty something and a new mother to toddler Hope. She has relocated to her mother’s house on the Isle of Palms to start over.

Linnea Rutledge is Cara’s niece, newly graduated from college and not yet established in a career. She escapes to her aunt’s house to be free of the tensions at home.

Cara will always return to her home on the beach, much like the turtle she was named after. Fate has brought her the daughter she always wanted and she has another chance at love. Her niece Linnea is caught between her dream career and her parents’ disapproval, but she cannot live her life according to her parents’ rules.

I really enjoyed this novel and will definitely be reading the first two books in the series. The author included the main characters from the first two novels which really whetted my appetite for the series. I loved the setting and the characters and the author managed to tell both Linnea and Cara’s stories well without leaving the reader confused. The subplots Palmer’s financial problems and Cooper’s emotional ones only added to the story. I found this story to be totally absorbing from the first page until the very last.
