Still no questions or comments, so you’re stuck with me writing. And here we come to the first novel that I wrote, What The Heart Can Hold. When I sat down to write this story, I had one goal in mind. I wanted to create the perfect man, one that any woman couldn’t help but fall in love with. At the time, I had no man in my life, so I decided to create one. And, oh boy, did I create a winner! With each page I wrote, I became deeper and deeper in love with him. To those of you non-writers, this is common. Writers have a relationship with their characters. They become real to us. I pretty much write a novel a year, which means that I have a new lover annually 🙂 This is a good thing, as writing is a pretty isolating profession.
This is the only book that I wrote, where I write in both the female and male protagonists points of view. It is a story of a 26 year old woman who loses her innocence. It covers twenty-two days of her life and each day is a chapter. The first day is told in Marissa’s point of view and then the next chapter is the same day but written in Hans’ point of view. I chose this way of writing the novel so that you could see deep into the character of Hans and know how he felt in his heart. I believed that if you couldn’t really know the man, you couldn’t really fall in love with him. And from every review and comment I’ve read or heard about him, I succeeded in creating the perfect man and lover.
