Still no questions or comments yet, so let’s move on to my next novel, Exception to the Rule. This story has enough steam to cloud up your windows, if you read it inside your car. Actually, there is a quite hot scene that takes place in a car. My character, Delilah Bennet is a ghost-writer for a NY Times best selling romance novelist. And although she writes about romance, she herself has never found love. And, more importantly, has never looked for it. She sees men basically for sexual release and as an independent, self sufficient woman doesn’t see the need to have a steady one in her life. Then, Delilah meets Jake Hastings, unexpectedly, and her attraction to him is more intense than anything she had ever felt before. Life has a funny way of leading you directly to where your destiny lies.
I enjoy researching, and with this novel there was a lot of it. I grew up in Brooklyn and wouldn’t have wanted to grow up anywhere else. But, when I was young, I always loved the idea of Connecticut. For me, I envisioned white picket fences, surrounding perfectly kept green lawns, with no police, ambulance or fire truck sirens to awaken you from your slumber. So, when I wrote this novel, I decided I would have some of its setting take place in Connecticut.
And, being from Brooklyn, I decided to give Delilah a bit of a sassy, cocky attitude. She’s different from the female protagonist in my other three novels. This girl can take whatever life throws at her! She is strong. New York strong!
