We hae some special plans for our September event which takes place on Labor Day. It is going to be our second anniversary of Book Brew in the new format even though we did miss some months along the way. I moved and a bunch of stuff happened in a smush and we just had to take some time out but I still call it the second anniversary.
Since September is a back to school month msny places if not sooner, a lot of our kids and grandkids are going to be needing to read and do book reports so we're going to do a special YA feature in September plus for the grown-ups, books with a back to school or related theme. No hotties so your kids can read the day's posts with you. I wll watch closely to see we stay well within the PG boundaries. Hot stuff is saved for November!!
If you or a friend are a YA author or an aspiring one please plan to join us. You can email me to sign up: bookbrew@coffeetimeromance.com and I'll get you set up. I'm going to round up some YA authors from publishers I work with if I can and try to assemble a good variety. I have grandkids and get books for them too and will recommend a few that I have come across for the tweens and teens.
AND,,,we will be giving away a neat coffee-themed laprobe size miniquilt along with the regular $25 gift certificate so you for sure want to visit and comment. I can't remember now if it is the one is shades of brown or the red and green one; we gave one away when we reopened in January. There will probably be one for our Winter Holiday/Christmas event too. But that is later on!!
Anyway mark your calendar and bring in the young readers. Might be a good spot to find some holiday gift books for the young readers in your family or circle also! That is Labor Day, September 3. That day would have been my 41st wedding anniversary had my DH not passed away a few years ago. Ours was not a reunion romance or back to school although we did attend some reunions for both of our classes and had a ball, the last one just a couple of months before he passed away. Good memories galore. Yep, I'm in love with love and always have been. Reading and writing romance is a good way to keep it going.
