I have to admit I was almost reluctant to go with this theme and begin this day! My deep dark secret is that horror kind of creeps me out although there are some fantabulous and well written tales out there. I even edited some when I was working as an editor for one of my publishers and reviewed some too when I was doing that but I rarely buy any of the genre. I’ve read a few that I sitll have nightmares about now and then! Same goes for those really scary and gory flicks–OMG, please! I won’t go, oh no. So color me mousy!!
When I was a kid I guess I was super timid. I had several frienda a little older and they delighted in telling talkes like “I want my golden arm” and “Bloody bones in the woodshed” Until I was ready to crawl into my sleeping bag and zip it all the way up while I scrunched down in a fetal position in the bottom of it! Still these are time-honored campfire fare at camp and sleep over parties, aren;t they? Maybe the stories have changed in the long years since I was a kid but I am sure the goosebumps and shivers have not! I hope some of you will share a tale or two and some scary times you had. Like that long dark trip to the latrine when you were out camping in the old primitive kind of places!
Double credit in the main drawing for sharing here (nudge, wink) Now I will go hang a garlic around my neck and maybe get my asbestos undies in place…and what the heck did I do with those silver bullets and that cold iron dagger??
(Did anyone watch Once Upon A Time last night or Revenge or that new one with the 666 address?) I was home alone –well me and four dogs which are great protection against normal baddied but for paranormal ones, not so much. There was no way! Reading Hunger Games–yeah, I am behind times here–but that was scary enough. The author has quite an imagination, doesn’t she?? Sheesh! Now I have to get the other two books and find what happens. No spoilers, thanks!
