I Will, by Lisa Kleypas
Caroline Hargreaves is and extremely respectable spinster and Lord Drake is her polar opposite. In order to be reinstated in his father’s will Drake must marry a respectable woman, Caroline is the only respectable woman of his acquaintance, so he blackmails her into posing as his fiancée. It does not take long for fiction to become fact.
Deck the Halls with Love, by Lorraine Heath
Lady Meredith Hargreaves was crushed when Alistair, Marquess of Chetwyn proposed to another woman. Now he is free, and she is promised to another, but Alistair is determined to claim the woman he loves before it is too late.
No Groom at the Inn, by Megan Frampton
Lady Sophronia Beresford seems destined to a bleak future with a distant cousin and his chickens when she meets James Archer at a coaching inn. James has been summoned to attend a house party filled with eligible simpering maidens by his doting mother. James has a brilliant idea; have Sophronia pose as his fiancée in exchange for a country cottage and an income. His mother loves Sophronia, and he just might also.
The Duke’s Christmas Wish, by Vivienne Lorre
Ivy Sutherland is ruled by impulse and the Duke of Vale is ruled by science. He has developed a formula for a perfect marriage and is eager to test it at his holiday house party. She is trying to find a good match for her best friend. The scientist has forgotten that opposites attract.
This is a wonderful holiday collection. The premise is unlikely love matches found at a Christmas house party. Each and every story is well worth reading, so much so that I could not pick a favorite, and Lisa Kleypas and Lorraine Heath are two of my favorite authors. I definitely will be looking up more from Megan Frampton and Vivienne Lorret.
