September 2019: Office Space
~ Tricia Schneider ~
Describe the space where you write. Is it an office? A coffee shop? Messy desk?
Tricia Schneider said:
There are typically two places where I work on my writing. My kitchen table and the sofa in the living room. I use a laptop so it’s easy to relocate as needed. Occasionally, I work in my bedroom, but not that often.
Most of the time I write at the kitchen table early in the morning before most of the household is awake. I can concentrate on writing and editing when its quiet. I sometimes use a box to set my laptop on so I can either sit or stand by the table. My homemade version of a standing desk.
It’s usually more chaotic in the living room when my children are home, so I’ll work on marketing and promoting there. I wear headphones to block the noise, but I can still keep an eye on the kiddies to make sure they’re not getting into trouble. There I write blog posts, newsletters, update my website and interact with readers on Twitter, Facebook and Goodreads.
I have dreams of turning the dining room into an office, but so far it hasn’t happened. Until then, my office space is wherever my laptop goes.
