Beth Byler is pregnant with her first baby. She is Amish and lives happily with her husband in Fields Corner. They are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby. She meets a sad looking woman named Chloe at one of her doctor’s visits and they soon forge a friendship.
Chloe Parrish is young and pregnant. Her parents sent her to Fields Corner in hopes that Chloe will decide to give up her baby for adoption. Her feelings are confusing. She wants to be with her boyfriend yet he is off on their vacation without her and her family seems not very supportive.
While Beth and Chloe come from extremely different backgrounds, they find a friendship amongst the diversity. With both women embarking on the birth of their child tragedy will test both their faith and their friendship.
What a wonderful new series. As always, Ms. Craver intertwines the Amish and English worlds effortlessly. A few familiar faces from the Plain Daughters series where spotted in Amish Baby Snatched added a nice touch while still allowing the book to be a standalone read. Beth and Chloe seem almost too young to encounter what they must; but sadly they are not. Their journeys are truly something you will want to read and enjoy. I eagerly await the next book in the series.
