I’ve always told readers they can ask me anything. In fact, I even have an Ask Harley form (https://forms.gle/rUtMF29shwUGAz2c6). One of the questions I’ve been asked multiple times is this: Why did you decide to write MC romances?
The short answer is… I come from a family of motorcycle enthusiasts. My dad had a Harley Davidson, which my mother said I wasn’t allowed to ride. So he cheated… He’d stop on the street, set me on the seat and walk the bike up the driveway while I sawt on it. And I loved it.
The slightly longer version? When I was little (under 4 years old), I remember my Aunt Betty and Uncle Bob coming to visit. They both rode motorcycles. In fact, they were on their way home from Sturgis. I later found out Aunt Betty was part of the Motor Maids. There were even articles about her in American Motorcycling Association magazines in the 70s.
I’m not sure why, but she made a big impression on me.
My first contemporary MC romance was Venom, Dixie Reapers MC. Here’s a bit about the book… (although, this is tamer version than the actual book description):
